ABOUT US

Welcome to BainTree Angus. This is our family. My name is Randy Tooth.  I come from a long line of farmers and living close the land. I grew up on a mixed farm in the Sundre, Alberta area. Growing up close to livestock and breeding cattle has given me a deep respect for the animals and the land.  Even after living a brief period in the city, I came back to my roots in 2002 and starting building my herd. I was fortunate to be able to purchase a farm near Rockyford, Alberta, and spent the first few years upgrading the facilities.

Now a days, you will find my whole family working beside me as we teach the next generation this same respect, and the importance of the work that we do. We are so proud of Adrianna for just graduating college with a diploma in Agricultural Technology: Animal Science. Allowing us to expand our work, blending our years of experience with modern practices. 

We started out with a small group of commercial heifers and as well as 21 Purebred Black Angus. In the spring of 2005, I decided that we would venture into the Purebred Black Angus business.  Over the last three years, I have increased our herd to 215 Purebred Black Angus and 6 Simmental Heifers. We now also have our F1 designation crossing Black Angus and Simmental breeds. Soon we will have over 30 Simmental/Angus hybrids. This hybrid gives us the best of both breeds, combining qualities such as superior weight gain, muscling, and meat yield.
